StudySnap — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

StudySnap is a Chrome extension that helps students answer study and quiz questions using AI. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how it flows, and what we never do.

Summary: We collect only what is necessary to provide the service — your Google account info for sign-in, a count of how many captures you have used today, and your subscription status. We never store your screenshots. We never sell your data.

1. How the extension works

When you click "Capture Question", StudySnap takes a screenshot of your active browser tab and sends it to our server (hosted on Vercel). Our server forwards the screenshot to OpenAI's API for AI analysis. The answer is returned to your browser and displayed on-screen. Screenshots are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers at any point.
